Frequently asked questions

Is Upshell a subscription?

Upshell is free to download and use for all core features. For advanced power-user features, you can choose between a low-cost annual subscription (19,90 €/year) or unlock everything forever with a single lifetime purchase (99,00 € once). Family Sharing is fully supported, and you can restore your purchase on any of your Macs.

I bought FULL but the features are locked. What can I do?

Try these steps:

  1. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account used for the purchase
  2. In Upshell, open the purchase screen and tap Restore purchases
  3. Check that the app is updated to the latest version
  4. Restart the app

If it still doesn't unlock, contact us with your purchase date and receipt.

How can I request a refund?

Purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds go directly to them:

  1. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account
  2. Select the Upshell purchase and the reason for the refund
  3. Submit the request
A connection fails or a command won't run. What should I include?

To help us reproduce it quickly, please include:

  • Your connection setup (password, key, ProxyJump) and target OS, if known
  • What the live terminal console log or the debug log shows
  • Your macOS and Upshell versions
